CARIBOU
Over
the years, the area has produced some tremendous trophy caribou.
We have a healthy resident caribou herd in the southern part of the
area. Our caribou can be hunted either as an add-on to the sheep
or moose hunts, or as a separate hunt throughout our season.
Our area
is the heart of the wintering range of the famous Porcupine Caribou
herd. These barren ground caribou migrate down from the Arctic National
Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. Through our experience in the last few years,
we have enabled our hunters to witness the migration and harvest some
tremendous trophy class bulls. Many of our clients feel that this is
an experience of a lifetime and is an awe inspiring sight, which can
be matched in very few other places in the world. It is common to see
4,000 to 5,000 caribou during a hunt. The herd has estimated numbers
in excess of 120,000 and is the largest herd in the Yukon Territory.

Steve Anderson took this heavy-palmated Caribou during our mixed hunt with Blair Chisholm. He was also succesful in taking a heavy fannin ram.
